Addictions, Concurrent Disorders and Therapeutic Art Interventions
Addictions, Concurrent Disorders and Therapeutic Art Interventions
This course examines the relationship between art, addiction, psychopathology, creativity, and healing. The intent of the course is to provide learners with the opportunity to expand the concept of the progressive development and application of therapeutic art, effective treatment goals, and interventions with various client populations. Students will investigate and learn how to use therapeutic art interventions with clients experiencing symptoms of the major diagnostic categories described in the current The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) published by the American Psychiatric Association.
